This extra big sheepskin from New Zealand differs from the other skins because of its size. The skin fits perfectly on larger furniture and it is unbelievably soft because of the long fur. The skin consists of one and a half skin that is sewed together, but this is not noticeable, because it is made with very strict accuracy in accordance to the hair length and thickness in the fur. The skin is easy to maintain and if you make sure to maintain it occasionally, you can keep your beautiful skin for a lifetime.
The 1.5 sheepskin rugs from New Zealand is a great match both for a country house and for a modern home. An extra-large sheepskin rug for a chair, the sofa or for on the floor. The possibilities are virtually endless. This sheepskin rug has been handcrafted from one and a half New Zealand sheepskins that have been carefully selected in order to achieve a uniform look. The New Zealand sheepskin has soft, tight and relatively straight hair that measure between 5 and 8 cm in length.
Imagine getting up in the morning and the first thing you feel under your feet is not the cold bedroom floor, but a warm, cosy and incredibly soft sheepskin rug. Just digging one's bare feet into the silky soft sheepskin is a feeling that cannot be recreated by any other material.

A real hide
No two are the same
Every sheepskin here is a single animal hide, so the outline is organic and the size varies by an inch or two either way. Undyed skins vary more still, because the shade shifts across the animal and no two grew the same.
That is the material behaving like a natural one rather than a fault. What we do control is the selection: hides are chosen for wool density, evenness of the crop, and how supple the leather side stays after tanning.
Our skins are tested by TUV SUD and carry the OEKO-TEX Leather Standard, which means they have been checked for chromium 6, formaldehyde and a list of other substances you would not want on something your family sits on.
