Sheepskin Rugs

A real sheepskin rug is a single hide, so the shape is organic and the size varies a little from one skin to the next. Ours come from New Zealand, Iceland, Gotland, Austria, Britain and Mongolia, each chosen for the character of its wool rather than for uniformity.

Sizes run from a 35 inch single skin that fits a dining chair up to a 71 x 84 inch multi-skin rug for a living room floor. Long wool is deep and soft underfoot, short wool holds its shape and wipes clean, and curly wool resists matting. Natural colors are undyed and vary by skin; the dyed range covers everything from ivory and taupe to aubergine and burgundy.
